How to create your perfect Dressing Room

Many of us dream of having our own stylish, elegant dressing room to escape into. A curated space for our organised wardrobe (after a de-clutter!) and a relaxing place to get ready for the day ahead. A dressing room is not just a practical and functional home for your clothes but a reflection of your own personality, style and taste. As everyones style is different, you have the freedom to experiment with how you would best like your items stored and presented. It may be that you prefer a more streamlined, clean and sophisticated look. Or you may like a boutique-feel, with patterns, bold colour and display shelves for your most treasured pieces.

You do not necessarily need to have a separate room entirely, you can create your own individual personal space with thoughtful interior styling. Even if your space is small, you can use design tricks such as lighting and mirrors to give the illusion that the space is bigger.

Creating your own dream dressing room can be more achievable than you think. We have put together a guide below with some of our styling ideas when it comes to dressing rooms, we hope you find these useful!

Statement Seating

A dressing table is usually a key component to a dressing room, which means that a stylish seat is essential. We have included some of our favourite Dressing Table Stools and Pouffe’s below. These make a great feature piece for the room, while also offering comfortable, padded seating. These large pouffe’s can be finished with either a luxurious piping detail or silver studding which gives the piece an extra special, quality finish. As all of our furniture is made to order, we can create these stylish stool’s in a fabric of your choice from our wide range, you can view our fabrics here.

Stylish Storage

Your dressing room space should aim to be organised and tidy, to make the process of getting ready as easy and enjoyable as possible. A simple way to do this is through allocating enough storage for your possessions. But this by no means needs to look dull or boring! You can create a real statement with your storage solutions. Our handmade Ottomans are the perfect way to introduce pattern and colour to your decor, while also offering a functional way to store your items. We offer a range of sizes so you can find the perfect options for the space you have available, you can view our full Ottoman range here.

Unique Mirrors

Another dressing room essential is of course, a lovely luxurious mirror! Whether that be small one to place on your dressing table, or full length to check out your outfit in. You don’t have to stick to the traditional route when choosing your mirror. These gorgeous colourful Terrazzo mirrors by designer Katie Gillies create an artistic impact with their fun and playful approach. Each piece is designed in Nottingham, England by Katie Gillies and is carefully cast and handcrafted by Katie and her small team, this means that each piece is unique in colour and design. You can find out more about Katie and her wonderful products here.

Decorative Drawers

Following on from our stylish storage ideas earlier, we just had to include these gorgeous re-upholstered pieces by Furniture Designer Frani and Pani, you can check out her Etsy Store here. Nicki creates the most beautiful bespoke pieces, with a lot of care and high-quality attention to detail. We love that the furniture pieces have been up-cycled and given a whole new lease of life. They are all stunning art forms in their own right, which will create a real statement in any interior space. Nicki at Frani & Pani also carries out commissions, so if you have a piece of furniture you’d like to beautify then this is the perfect solution!
