Wallpaper Decor Trends

We’ve collated a series of the most beautiful, imaginative creations with wallpaper to inspire you… the possibilities of wallpaper design are endless!

Wallpapered Ceiling Trends We Love

Moving away from a plain painted ceiling can be daunting, but the impact a wallpapered ceiling can have on the atmosphere of a room is well worth the time and effort. We hope that these stylish examples will inspire you to take the plunge!

“Covering your ceiling with wallpaper is a confident decor move that can add color, pattern, texture, and excitement to virtually any room. Treating the ceiling like a fifth wall and lavishing it with decorative features such as paint, murals, or moldings has a long history in architecture and interior design. But adding statement ceiling wallpaper feels both fresh and unexpected in a time when covering it with drywall and white paint is the norm. ” - https://www.thespruce.com/ceiling-wallpaper-ideas-4161262

Retro Is Back!

We absolutely love the classy yet retro feel of this space, created by Jules Interiors. The monochrome palette throughout, paired with the black and white photography prints, brings a real sense of nostalgia to the room.

“For wallpaper ceiling ideas, a striped design can not only add shape and structure to your ceiling, it can trick the eye into thinking a room is longer and larger than it is.” - https://www.homesandgardens.com/interior-design/ceiling-wallpaper-ideas

Maximalist Florals

When you find that one perfect wallpaper that is everything you’ve been looking for, why not make it the talking point of a room and go bold!

Something to consider when choosing your perfect floral:

“Floral patterns come in all shapes and sizes; from tight designs such as those in traditional Morris & Co designs to large painterly blossoms. You'll want to pick a pattern that fits in with the size of your walls and complements other decor like artwork or furniture. A busy tight design can be very effective in a smaller room drawing the walls in for a cosy interior, whilst a larger maximalist floral wallpaper would work best on larger walls where a smaller design may be lost in the scale.” https://tm-interiors.co.uk/blog/a-guide-to-choosing-the-best-floral-wallpaper

We are obsessed with everything about this room by Dani Dazey. This is the perfect way to introduce maximalism into your home without becoming overwhelmed with clashing patterns. The colour palette brings cohesion throughout the room, connecting all elements to that gorgeous floral wallpaper. The complimenting furniture and soft furnishings soften the room, whilst that incredible chandelier adds grandeur.

Dopamine Decor

This trend has become more popular in recent years, and is all about expressing your individuality and brining items and colours into your home that spark joy!

'Dopamine décor can be interpreted as using colour, pattern and tactile furnishings in your home as a way to make you feel happier,' says Suzy Chiazzari, Colour and Design Consultant. 'You might start off small – by introducing a print here and a coloured piece of furniture there, or you might fully commit to vivid colours, such as zesty yellows, punchy pinks, and brilliant blues to dress homes and evoke feelings of happiness.' https://www.housebeautiful.com/uk/decorate/looks/g42188077/dopamine-dressing/

We think these new wallpapers from Lust Home are extremely fitting for this trend. Consisting of beautifully illustrated designs by @millie.illustrates on Instagram, the collection instantly brings happy, summery vibes - something we could do with during the lovely rainy July we are experiencing in the UK currently!

If you are cautious to commit to a complete wallpapered wall, adding panelling is a great way to break up the impact. Pictured below is one of our best selling wallpapers by Linwood, called Yanagi Bright Pastel. It can be purchased here: https://sparrowandplumb.com/shop/p/rousseau-wallpaper-by-emma-j-shipley-wn2at-rd84a-bdme8-aw8sn-4pg84-gk6de-en267-mrxnf-p8586-c5hne-cwcl8-bhkkg-ac35d-xew6a-btk24-6a6gf-l4dy9-exe25-7l99x-d8dtn-cpap3

“Drawing inspiration from an archival document from the 1940s, this pastel wallpaper features a beautiful landscape of mountains, willows and Oriental-style buildings.”

We love how it has been styled with the complimenting blush pink panelling and retro tiled flooring. We also make soft furnishings and furniture in this beautiful hand-painted design.
