Eclectic Home Interiors: Get Inspired

Our Top Eclectic Decor Trends to Follow

Eclectic style is all about mixing different styles, textures, and contrasting colours to create a harmonious joyful interior. You are able to have fun with it, to create a beautiful unique room that is a representation of your personality. Your imagination can run wild with the experimentation and play that eclectic design allows. We’ve compiled some of our top styling tips to help you create your very own eclectic haven.

Select a Colour Palette (and stick to it!) - Picking a core colour palette is the key to creating a cohesive look for your room when introducing eclectic style. To prevent the room from feeling too busy try to incorporate a calming neutral alongside your accent colour. This will help to balance the eclectic elements and create a harmonious space, instead of an overbearing one.

Statement Objects - Introduce bold pieces which create an impact in the room. You can really have fun with this, there are various interesting pieces on the market which can can become a talking point for the home interior. This could be anything from a quirky candlestick stand to an animal head vase - whatever takes your fancy! Make sure not to incorporate too many Statement Objects in one room, as they could end up competing with each other and loosing the impact you are aiming for.

Mix Textures - Have fun with mixing different textures, this could be through heavy-weave rugs or tufted pillows. Placing contrasting textures against one another creates visual interest, such as smooth textures alongside rough, nubby ones - such as marble surfaces against wood grains, or soft luxurious sofas and throw pillows against hard, industrial furniture.

Create a Focal Point - It is important to remember to incorporate a focal point when designing the layout of your room. This could be with an eye-catching element such as a fireplace, accent wall or statement furniture piece, such as a Coffee Table. Although eclectic style combines various styles and items, the finished look must look curated and not lack focus.

Gallery Wall Art - An eclectic styled interior is the perfect setting for a fun and stylish Gallery Wall. You can combine a mix match of frames with various prints depicting different styles and motifs. This is the opportunity to really personalise your home and let your personality shine through. Following on from the previous styling tip, creating a gallery wall is a great way of creating a distinctive focal point for the room.
