A look back over 2021

As the year comes to a close we wanted to reflect on what a great year 2021 has been for us, although not without the struggles of the pandemic! Over the past 12 months we have created 1,600 furniture pieces in our Somerset Workshop, all handmade by our small in-house team. In the last 4 weeks alone we have attended the local Sherborne Market in Dorset, exhibited at a Pop-Up Shop in London on Oxford Street, launched sample sales and completed all of our outstanding orders for Christmas! It’s fair to say it’s been a busy run up to Christmas. We are full of ideas for the new year but for now we’re very much looking forward to the Christmas break.

Some of our favourite moments from the past year

BRITYARD, OXFORD STREET, LONDON

We were thrilled to exhibit a selection of our handcrafted products at BritYard’s Pop-Up Shop on Oxford Street in November. We're very proud to be part of BritYard’s ethos - to support independent British brands. BritYard is the UK’s first online-only, luxury department store, exclusively stocking independent British brands. It was established to become the go-to destination for those wanting to discover, explore and support independent British brands.

We’re so pleased to have our products featured alongside so many other amazing independent businesses. Click here to discover more about BritYard.

LOCAL MARKET, SHERBORNE, DORSET

As our business began at the start of the pandemic we have grown through our presence online and social media. As restrictions started to lift over the past year we have had the pleasure of attending our local market in Sherborne, Dorset, alongside many other super talented independent local businesses. You can check out their instagram here. We’ve really enjoyed being able to meet new customers and discuss our products in the flesh!

We have an extensive range of furniture pieces and soft furnishings in different fabrics available. When you view our handcrafted pieces in real life you can really get a sense of the different textures, patterns and colours on offer. Do you have a local market near you that you’d love for us to attend? Please let us know if you do! We’ve really enjoyed meeting more of our customer base this year and we’re excited to attend more events in the near future.

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENTS AT SPARROW & PLUMB

Over the past year we have continued to develop new product designs, such as the Coffee Table Footstool with Storage, pictured below. This has quickly become one of our best sellers, and it’s one our favourite furniture pieces too! We have also recently introduced a stunning new range of fabrics and homeware products from Voyage Maison, which includes beautiful fresh floral prints as well as illustrative, playful designs that would fit perfectly in a child’s bedroom. These are all available to shop on our website now.

As a small business we are always looking for ways to cater to our customers, therefore we will continue to expand and develop our product and fabric ranges in 2022. We will always strive to produce high quality, unique, handmade furniture which will transform your home.

And finally, we just wanted to say a great big THANK YOU for all of your support and custom over the past year. It has been a difficult year for many, we’re very grateful we have been able to bring some colour and comfort to your homes. As a small business we really do appreciate every single wonderful order we receive.

We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year. We can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store for us!
